Hey guys i'm back with a new blog. Today I will be talking about Olympics over the ages. I have chosen to write about the Olympics because, this years Olympics got postponed until next year because of the pandemic. The first Olympics was on 6 April 1896 it was held in Athens. Although the ancient games were in Olympia, Greece from 776 BC to 393 AD, it took 1503 for the Olympic games to return. In the 1896 Olympics they and 241 athletes, 14 countries, and 43 events. Which is very different numbers from our last Summer Olympics in Rio. In 2016 in Rio the Olympics had 11238 athletes, 207 countries, and 306 events. So we have come a long way. 1. Hi Arihia

What an informative blog post! I love the Olympics, especially watching the track and field events. When I was at university, one of my favourite papers I did was called the History of Sport - it was all about the history of the Olympics. One of my dreams would be to go and watch the Olympics one day. Isn't it amazing how long the Olympics have been around for, it's crazy that they have only been cancelled four times in all these years.

What Olympic events do you enjoy watching?
