Top Team

Hey guys today I will be telling you about top team! Top team is where these people come to school with a bunch of things and set up little activities around our back field. My favourite activity that we did was the water bus. I liked the water bus because we all had to sit one after each other and the first person fills up a bucket of water then tries to tip it into the next persons bucket, then the person that just gave there water to the other person has to run to the back of the line. The team that has the most water in there bucket at the end of there line wins. I really liked this because we all got saturated in water and it was really funny when you spilt your water on everyone behind you. There was a bunch more activities. I'm pretty sure there was about 12 activities there. I think that the most funniest activity that there was, was this thing that you had to stand in a really big kind of belt with everyone in your team in it. Then you had to walk and move it around with you as you are in it. The team to have the most laps done by the end of it wins. I found it funny because we kept on falling out and tripping up, in the need it ended up that only 3 of us were doing it everyone else gave up! Anyway that's all for today bye!

Haiku

Hey guys i'm back and today I will be showing you my Haiku I made for writing in Week 7. We had to choose a type of poem to write out of: Limerick, Haiku, Using Comparisons in poetry, Cinquan. I chose to write a haiku about food, because I REALLY like food. How you write a haiku is that, one haiku only has 3 lines. The first line has to only have 5 syllables, the second line can have 7 syllables, then the last line can have 5 syllables again. So the rule is, 575. Here's what my haiku turned out like:

Anyway that's all for today bye!

Create Task Week 6

Hey guys i'm back with anew blog, and today I will be showing you my create task for week 6. For maths this week we were learning about tree diagrams. We had to go onto a google drawing and choose a question to do, I chose a question about number plates. The question was: There are four letters available to make up a car number plate, W, X, Y and Z. The number plate must have only three letters, but they can be placed in any order. How many different number plates can you make? This is what my tree diagram turned out like:

Anyway way I hope you like it bye!

Have you ever made a tree diagram?

Tough Kids

In week 6 we did a mud run kind of called Rough Kids. Their was thousands of kids there and most of them were dressed up. I dressed up and I think I was the most colourful and weirdest looking. As we were running their was a bunch of activities we had to crawl through mud go through a spiders web made out of rope, climb over a mountain of tyres, go through the sea twice. And a bunch more. At the end there was a bouncy castle that you go through but because there was so many people we had to go around it. While we were waiting their were firefighters spraying us with water. Then when we passed the finish line we could take an apple. Tough kids was so fun. It was even on the news!

Have you ever done Tough kids or a mud run?

Sport

Hey guys i'm back with a new blog today I will be talking to you about P.E. In P.E this term we've done Korfball, Cricket, Lawn Bowls, and Softball. The first one I did was Softball. Softball was my favourite because it was really fun. When it was my turn to bat, Craig the guy that was teaching us said to me that in the future he'll see hit it over all those people. After a few hits I did, I hit it all the way over the big wall of people. Then we did Cricket. Steve was teaching us cricket I got a turn to be a batter a wicket, a bowler and a fielder. So I got a turn at everything. Cricket was really fun! Then we did Korball, I really liked Korball it's like netball but a whole bunch more people. But you can't step and you have to shoot the ball into a hoop with no backboard. I scored the first goal of the game. The next week we did Lawn Bowls. Lawn Bowls was so fun my team which was Katrina and Sophie, got 900 points. Sophie got the ball into the 100 points hole. Anyway that's it for today bye!

Have you ever played one of these sports?

Information Report

Hey guys. Today I will be telling you about our information report. We all had to choose a different country, I chose Isle of Man. A lot of people did other countries around Europe. I chose Isle of Man because it seemed really interesting and no one else was doing it. So you could say I went away from the crowd. Here's a picture of there flag:

I know it look's a bit weird because it's just a bunch of legs. But I think it's cool because you already know it has a story behind it. Isle of Man has there very own cat! Which is cool again, not every country get's to have there own cat! The cat is called a Manx cat. Here's a picture:

Image result for manx cat
Again I know they look a bit weird because they have no tail. But still they are so cute. Manx cats are actually known for not having a tail. Another interesting fact about Isle of Man is that the Bee Gee's are from there! I said this because some people think that there Australian but the from Isle of Man all of them! Anyway that's it for today I'll share with you my information report when i'm done! Bye!!

Reading Create Task Week 5

Hey guys today I will be talking to you about my reading task. In reading we had to choose an article to read about something in a certain country. I chose to read a Traditional Irish Sport. They talked about Gaelic Football! I knew quite a lot about it because I played it. Anyway here's the article:

And here's the link to the website:  Link to Article. Before we read the article we had to write down what we already knew about that country. And I knew a lot! We had to answer some questions for it here they are:

Anyway that's it for today bye!

Recipe

Hey guys i'm back with another blog. Today I will be sharing with you how to make Dulce de Leche! For school we had to make a national food from a country. I had to make a national food from Argentina. I chose to make Dulce de Leche. Here's my recipe:

Dulce De Leche
I have chosen to make Dulce De Leche. My country was Argentina and I've chosen
to make an Argentinian dessert. Dulce De Leche translates to ‘Candy of milk’.
It is described to be like a caramel Nutella. Some people say that the good thing
about Dulce De Leche is that it has everything about caramel but it doesn't have
the chewiness, so you don’t have to keep playing around trying to get it out of your
teeth. Dulce De leche is also a food from Spain and Latin America. But it
originated from Argentina.

Ingredients:
~Condensed Milk
~Water

  1. Preheat oven to 220 degrees Celsius, with rack in middle.
  2. Pour one can of Condensed Milk into a round deep dish and cover
tightly with tin foil.
3. Set dish in a roasting pan and pour in enough water to reach
halfway up the dish.
4. Leave to bake in middle of oven. After about 1 hour, turn off oven
completely and leave dish to keep on cooking. If the water has evaporated,
add more if needed. Then continue to bake for another 45 minutes, or until milk
is thick and caramel like.
5 . When done cooking remove the round dish from the water and leave to cool
uncovered.

*Things to go with it*
You could use the caramel spread to use as a spread on you toast or in a sandwich (it goes great
with peanut butter!). Or you could even mix it into a cup of coffee or hot chocolate, or drizzle it
onto a bowl of ice-cream.

Anyway that's all for today bye!

Have you ever tried and Argentinian dish?

Camp 2019

Hey guys i'm back with another blog. Today I will be sharing with you how camp went!

Lat week (week 2 or term 4) my hub the Kaupeka hub went to camp. We went to a camp in Wainui it was a YMCA camp. There the activities we did were:

Raft Building
School led activity
outdoor living skills
Coasteering
High ropes
Orienteering
Search & rescue
Archery
Kayaking

We arrived at camp on Tuesday. There was a tramp up to camp which was very muddy and nearly everyone got muddy shoes. When it was our last night their the teachers gave us some questions about camp to answer here they are:

What did you find challenging?

What I found challenging was learning new things and having to use new things right and making sure that whatever I is give it a try because you'll learn. It was also hard to work together sometimes. because we might not of liked the acitivty. Also getting away from devices.

What did I like most?

What i liked most was orienteering and Search and Rescue. I liked this because we got to explore the forest and run around in nature because you can't really in the city. Also hanging out with my friends, and getting away from technology for once. Also getting to know my friends more.

What have I learned?

I learned that some people don't like to do somethings, but you should still try it because you might end up liking it. Also that the teachers won't mind if you dress up for Halloween on camp.

What are you grateful for?

I am grateful for getting the chance yo go to camp. And being in a school that gives me chances like this. Also that I had friends there with me so I have someone to hangout with.

Well that's it for today bye!
